About the Artist
Sylvia prides herself on being bi-coastal. Having spent half her life in New York City and the other half in California, she has equal love for each. Raised by an artist mother and grandmother, Sylvia first learned to draw and paint portraits at The Art Students League in New York City. In 2003 she moved to The Bay Area and taught art in the Palo Alto Unified School District. About 10 years ago, she discovered cold wax, and has incorporated it into her work in recent abstract figurative and landscape paintings. Sylvia maintains an art studio at ArtBias in San Carlos, California, and her work is in many homes across the US.
